NEC Floppy drive--Please help

I have a NEC FD-1231M flopply drive that wont read diskette. It says "No ID mark address was found" when I insert a diskette. Though the same diskette work fine in another computer. I've re-installed the driver, but no luck. Anyone with any ideas. Please help me. (PC running XP Pro)

I would buy another floppy drive and bung it in?
