There has been a few people with problems like this lately & aside from some shot in the dark answers no-one seems to really get to the bottom of it.
Read the links I posted here, there has to be a logical reason for these things.

To me it seems to revolve around the power supply unit but time will tell.
Try the things I suggested & let us know how you go.  :)

I have no idea where or what the BIOS is. My keyboard does not have a wake button. I reset the memory card and now the green light stays on but I still have no signal.

    Information about the computer BIOS

To reset the BIOS, take the following steps:

    1. Power down computer
    2. Take countermeasures against electro-static discharge
    3. Remove computer casing
    4. Inspect mainboard for a CMOS jump switch or CMOS battery

In case of CMOS jump switch:

Follow instructions provided with the mainboard manual.

    In case of CMOS battery:

    I. Remove CMOS battery for approximately 10-15 seconds.
II. After 10-15 seconds, place the CMOS battery back.

    5. Power on system.

Do not power on the system when CMOS jumper is set to clear_cmos or when CMOS battery is non-present. [/i]

thanks for all your suggestions. I took out a little round battery and waited, put back in same thing. I read some of the peep stuff.  Mine has 1 beep then 3 then 3 then 1.  Could a bad video card do all this?

See this for an explanation. What BIOS is installed on the mainboard?

looks like the beeps mean either 28 autosize Dram or 64 K Ram failure. Don't know what those are.  Is the BIOS the opperating system if so Windows xp

The type of BIOS determines what the beeps mean.

You should open the system case and inspect the mainboard and see if you can find a chip that says CMOS or BIOS and report the name.

You may also find this information in your mainboard manual.

I don't see a chip.  I tried to remove and replace the memory again and in doing so there was a little flame and a bad smell.  I think I killed it for good.  Thanks so much for trying to help.
