    Black Screen of Death
    « on: April 03, 2010, 09:20:22 PM »
I was on dA yesterday and got some malware. Your Protection and something Support, I think. They made life difficult and downloaded a lot of porn to my desktop too. I had the viruses disabeled and was tyring to make my MBAM work (the viruses messed it up, even when I would redownload it). Also, system restore was turned off by the network admin (or something like that). Then, while browsing the internet (I used Firefox), my computer froze. I restarted it and got the black screen of death with blinking cursor.

I have a Thinkpad R61i, Windows XP (obviously) and no disk with Windows on it. I CAN get into my BIOS and I ran a hard drive scan of some sort that said everything was ok. CANNOT get into safe mode or any other mode my computer offers.

Any ideas? I have to get this figured out before I go back to school tommorow... so any help is so very much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Puppet
