    Stopping a startup.

I'm Vista Home Premium.  During PC start up Win Live Messenger is always there just waiting for me to close the window.  I don't use it and would like a safe way to disable it or; totally get rid of it without detrimentally effecting Windows and the start up procedure.

These days I don't know what is safe to delete without it messing with anything else.

    Thanks for you help.

Download & run Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel (http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml). Uncheck any items you don't want starting with the system.

okay after you have booted up your computer and windows live messenger is on, open the window, click tools, options, then the sign in tab, uncheck the start up options, if you want to delete it, go to the control panel and program removal area and find windows live and remove it, it shouldnt harm anything at all
