    Partition types
    « on: September 03, 2010, 06:04:41 AM »
I have 4 hard drives, and they are partitioned as follow:

    C: Win 7 (Primary)
    D: Data (Primary)
    E: Data (Primary)
    F: Backups (Secondary)

I know primary is for bootable discs, i.e. operating systems. Now I'm wondering if there would be any advantages in converting drives D & E to secondary, since they are purely for data.

    Thanks in advance.

    1) I believe you mean you have ONE hard drive with 4 partitions.
    2) No, there is no advantage to changing anything.

Actually, it is 4 seperate hard drives (3 x SATA and 1 x IDE)

If there is no advantage to changing anything, then I'll be happy with the current setup.
