FF -Shoul SSL be used more often?
« on: November 18, 2010, 01:11:49 PM »
This is about a FF plug-in.

Seoul SSL be used more often?

Does it matter? What if others can see what you are watching?
Do you care if others read your mail?

Look at this quote:

Quote
GMail was the first major email provider to enable SSL on all users' sessions. Google software engineer Adam Langsley noted that Google needed no additional hardware or software, and that SSL encryption adds less than one per cent to Google's computational load. So it really isn't costly to implement SSL.

Wifi Sidejacking -Bob Rankin

Here is a video - Please watch.
What Is a Sidejacking Attack?

Bear in mind there are over 100,000 open 'hot spots' just in the USA.

Your News issues have something to be desired...

This is a non-issue...and hardly worth noting.

Seoul SSL
Oh, you've been to South Korea?   :P

I wonder why Google can use SSL for their email and still perform better than Yahoo! Mail, which does not use SSL.  Another case where Google excels with speed.

The video should get the attention of those users who access their email via wifi in public places.

Which is why I posted it here   8)

This issue is about Firesheep. A rather new plug-in for Firefox.
What matters is when Other people are using it with hack ware.

As to its importance as a recent issue, just Google
Firesheep
and find many articles about a month old.
But I do not recall it mentioned anywhere on this forum.

HTTPS Everywhere Updates with More Protection Against Firesheep

That's pretty dumb. People should just not use Unencrypted wireless connections.
