Can't get games.
« on: December 01, 2010, 03:53:33 PM »
When the grand kids wanted to play on line games (checkers and backgammon) I got a message with 0x80041006 as a reason I can't open.  Googliong that only got me a bunch of paid for adds to correct registry.  Is this actually a virus we've got, or is there some kind of real issue?

Yup.  That's the exact same page I got.  But everyone of those addresses leads to some kind of
'scam' program wanting us to spend plenty to cure 'registry errors' that we didn't know about.

That's not what I see. Clicking on the first couple of links yields these pages:

Anyway, stay away from registry cleaners at all costs.

I wouldn't think the hard drive, but whatever - as long as you're up and running.... Thanks for the update.
