    Outlook 2010
    « on: January 01, 2011, 09:12:41 AM »
I just purchased a new computer and I backed up my calendar and notes in outlook to a external hard drive, pst file. I installed office 2010 and went to my calendar and tried to import my back up from my ext. HD and it says I don't have permission, access denied. what do I have to do to get access and permission, I am the administor.

Easiest thing to do is just replace the outlook. pst file on the system with the one you want to use. If still having problems, take ownership (http://www.blogsdna.com/2173/add-take-ownership-option-in-right-click-context-menu-of-windows-7.htm)

Just copy it to the same location as the old file and you'll be asked if you want to replace the existing file. Say yes.

I already told you. Replace the old one with the new one.
