Using the dgl-4500 in bridge mode
    « on: February 19, 2011, 01:45:22 PM »
I just bought the dir-855 and want to use my dgl-4500 to extend the range of the 5ghz band.  I read that using firefox if you go to view and change it from basic to no then log into the 4500's page under basic network you can now see wan port with 2 options router mode and bridge mode but as soon as i change it and save it all the settings go from what they are to o.o.o.o and i get an error message.

Anyone know how to get the 4500 working in bridge mode?   Thanks.    The reason i want to extend the 5ghz band is because it's set to wifi n only and the 2.4ghz is set to mixed wifi n and g.

Would you recommend extending the 2.4ghz over the 5 because not everything uses 5 but 2.4 and some things still use g but most use n.
