windows explorer has stopped working

I am getting the windows explorer has stopped working, need to restart everytime I rt click on just about anything.  I have tried the cmd/scannow without any luck.  I have tried several registry fixes I saw on youtube to no help.  I want to reinstall from you recovery disc but can remember what f key to push to make the computer boot from recovery disc?  Any help would be appreciated.

Please post the computer model and operating system. Is there any particular file/directory to which windows explorer will not respond? Have you tried checking the problem is present in safemode?

This is an asus model k50af running windows 7.  I have not tried it in safe mode.  I doesnt matter what I rt click on it will give me the explorer stopped working warning.
