Hi. As stated I have been researching forums and support services for about a week straight now without being able to solve my problem. I have tried many different suggestions and finally gave up. The problem is that I attempted a factory reset of Windows XP service pack 2. Once done I have been having certain issues and after researching I have deduced that the problem is I am missing drivers under the "other devices" category. What I am currently missing is PCI device, PCI Simple Communications Controller, Video Controller, and Video Controller (VGA Compatible). However, I have installed many things trying to fix the issue and when first completing the reset I am usually also missing another, the bus controller I think? Bus something. I currently have my network driver installed in order to use the internet on the computer rather than my phone however that is possible as well as starting from complete scratch. I have attempted to use the driver installation disk provided by dell but it doesn't seem to work. Many suggested downloading each driver from the dell website in the order of system software, chipset, then others such as video, network, audio etc. I have tried many different times and even downloaded certain drivers to cds and tried to install them directly from the disk right after completion of a reset, But nothing seems to work. I am not sure if I have the incorrect order, or if I am not downloading the right thing. PLEASE HELP. IT WOULD BE APPRECIATED SO MUCH. It is a dell dimension E510 dm051.
