    Computer will not power up
    « on: May 21, 2012, 09:09:02 PM »
My Win XP computer just stopped powering up. With a little troubleshooting this is what I came up with.
With the 4pin ATX + 12 volt power cable plugged in to the mother board nothing would happen, no power or lights come on. With the 4pin ATX + 12 volt power cable (not) plugged in the fans on the PSU and CPU would come on but that is all. I know this cable gives power to the CPU so if it is not plugged in then the computer should not boot up. I got the same results with two different power supplies. Does this mean there is a mother board problem?

If you tried other PSUs, it's probably the motherboard.
