Comuter is dead
« on: September 23, 2005, 04:32:41 PM »
OK, My computer was recent ly killed due to a spark in the power supply. I replaced the power supply, motherboard, and processor. I know for sure that my Harddrive, and Graphics card works fine, but INo matter what I do, I cannot get it to turn on.
Now the moterboard recieves power, but I smell a scent of burning curcits near the power input of the motherboard. What do you think is wrong?

Specs:
-AMD 3200+ 64 bit 2.0ghz processor
-Gigabyte Nvidia K8 trinton motherboard
-Maxtor 250gb HD.
-1 Centon 512 mb of ram (1 notch)
-ATI 9250 128mb graphics card
-Echo Star 450watt power supply (newer)
-Compusa 400 watt power supply (old one)

ML:

Take the computer to a repair shop and have them replace the power supply (should be under $50.00 (USD) for the hardware, plus the cost of labor).

Best regards,
Doc

I'd suggest a Viking Funeral, but a sledge hammer may be more satisfying.
