    What's wrong with my Paint?
For some reason, it keeps splitting my print screen photo with whatever is on my desktop background. What's wrong? How do I fix this?

It's set up with dual displays. You should be able to check the The display control panel and disable it.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

right click the desktop and choose Screen resolution (win7) or right-click, choose properties and select the settings tab (XP).

So, you're using dual monitors. Is that right?

I would think you don't want to disable one monitor every time you do a screen print.  If you want to make a screen print of an open program window, you can use Alt/PrtScn.  And, if you're using Windows 7, the Snipping Tool is a versatile tool for selecting any part of your screen when capturing screen prints.

doubtful. More likely their video adapter has dual display capabilities, or possibly HDMI out and is exposing them as two monitors when in fact they only have one visible display.

If you mean you are actually using 2 monitors, then, yes, you can cut out the part of your screen capture that you want and save it. In other words, crop the image.
