My wife has Vista at work and it sees it just fine. I even got a new cord from Kindle and it didn't work. It see it in safe mode just fine. Also there are no yellow marks of any kind in Device Manager. I rebooted the Kindle, tried different ports. My usb hub that I normally use for flash drives isn't powered, it is attached to a usb port in the rear of the computer. I have a sempron 2200+.
