If you don't mind potentially losing stuff on the drive, you can try this tool which will completely reformat and partition your flash drive.

Have actually already tried that tool. When I go to format the drive I get a "There is no media in the specificed device" error.

    If you use win 7, please set compatibility mode to Win XP SP2 and run as administrator.
