When I close outlook 2003 it stays running in task manager.  How do I fix this so I don't have to keep going into task manager to shut it down?

    Thank you.

Usually this issue occurs when a program that is running as an add-in inside Outlook cannot close. Outlook waits for this program to close before Outlook can close.

Try the steps listed on this page linked to below, paying CAREFUL ATTENTION to where it says "Important: If your computer is on a corporate network, contact your Desktop or your Microsoft Exchange Server support team before you disable any add-ins in Outlook, especially antivirus add-ins."
