error when starting windows

After uninstalling Norton with Norton removal tool, it didn't seem to shut down properly. A black screen came up saying something like no boot disc and disc failed.  Now when I turn on the computer that is the screen I get.. Please tell me there is a fix for this..

Can you enter safe mode? Do you have any discs for the computer?Do you know what security product you were trying to  remove and what version?truenorth
