    Is it possible to control the fan speed on a laptop?

    Speedfan cannot control laptop, I my fan speed is built in the BIOS,  but is there some kind of way to take complete control of the fan speed on a laptop? thanks

    Speedfan will control pretty much any controllable fan, as it will interface with almost all sensors and chips, although some do need setting up.
    Notebook Hardware Control and i8kFanGUI are two other possible solutions, though they're unlikely to work if Speedfan doesn't - and if they do work, it's likely Speedfan will, too, with a bit of fiddling.

    Not on most newer laptops, since the fan is controlled by the Embedded Controller (EC) which is proprietary to the motherboard.
    There are some laptop specific fan controllers available, depending on the laptop.
    Here's one that works on some HP's & some Acers.  Works great on my HP ProBook 4530s.
