If you follow the above link you will see that it leads to a preview release of Android Gingerbread (2.3.1) for Apple devices. You will need to have a jailbroken iPhone or iPod touch to install it, and you will have to download the binaries and install it manually. There are links to instructions and advice. Please note that I have not done this myself, and if you brick the device, you are on your own!

You theoretically may be able to but it is not something you should expect to do and be able to use the iPod, it will be slow and a lot of things will not work correctly.

Windows 8 is completely out of the question.

Likewise MS-DOS, VAX/VMS, Solaris, AmigaOS, OS/2 and BeOS.
