need help with a game, please

intalled computer game for my husband but receives fatal error message when I try to start it. Error message reads: Failed to allocate d3d device!! driver/hardware issue? then when I hit ok a message reads: runtime error r6025 pure virtual function call. Any help is welcome?

game: Leisure Suit Larry MCL: uncut & uncensored

I see... What are the game's requirements, and what are your full computer specs?

Does your videocard support Direct3D or is it an OpenGL card?

s3 savage 2000
manufacturer: s3 inc

ran dxdiag and found no problems except:
s3sav2k.dll not digitally signed
d3d9d.dll is debug version and will run slower than retail version

Install the latest drivers. Not the Windows WDM drivers.
