youtube downloader
« on: February 18, 2015, 04:42:44 AM »
I went to download cnet.com to download the youtube downloader and Norton antivirus program told me that it was an unsafe program to download.  Does anyone know where I could find a youtube download program that is safe to install?
   Thank you.

I would like to add that I did try the link to altavista provided by a previous poster and got the following message from Norton:  This threat has been removed.  No further action is needed.

Thank you for your hyperlink, however, it didn't work, either.  At first it downloaded the program and all seemed to be going well and then at the end it said that the Installation Failed, and up popped a notice in the lower right corner of my screen from Norton saying that it was not a safe program and that it was eliminated.  I had tried it twice.  The second time I right clicked on the program before I downloaded it and went to the Compatibility Tab which was checked for XP, so I went down the list and check of Windows 7, and then proceeded to the download, which failed for the second time.  Any suggestion as to what the problem might be?

Save the file instead of launching it...
Then scan it with Norton...
If it comes up clean disable Norton til the install is complete...re-boot.

Thank you.  I did as you suggested and it worked, however, all I had to do was scan the file and did not have to turn off Norton.   Possibly manual scanning was enough to make Norton realize it wasn't a threat.   You always come through!
