no sound

cannot get any sound with computer funtions , such as,
emty trash , exit windows, etc.
All sounds have been enabled and work when tested, but get no sound when using these funtions. HELP !

      how long have you had the problem for?
      have you tried system restore?

      Does your system play cds ok?
