My comps picture is way distorted
« on: March 19, 2006, 06:26:14 PM »
Hi well the subject says it all. The picture on my computer is really distorted.  And, BIG!  I know this does not give you alot to go on...but seeing as how I am so not knowledgeable about computer systems (hardware or software) I'd appreciate any suggestions.  I'm running out of Windows 98.  I do know that. HELP!!!

P.S. Just to give you kind of idea of what I'm talking about I attached an example.

    Try increasing your screen resolution.
    Right click on your desktop->Properties>Settings.

      Can't you change the size directly from the monitor?

      H-size
      V-size

      Right click the desktop and from the context menu, select Properties>Settings. What screen resolution/colour depth combination is set? They should be at least 800x600/16bit respectively.
      If you can't achieve at least those parameters, click on the "advanced" button and select the "Adapter" tab. What hardware is listed there? If it's a "VGA Adapter" or similar, you need to reinstall your graphics card drivers.
