« on: March 19, 2006, 06:17:52 AM »
My computer is a 20GB hard drive with 19 used and 1 free.Without buying a new computer, can i buy an external hard drive [80 GB for 100$] and add it to my computer and free up some space on my c drive by moving some programs over to it ?

Sure. I don't think External Hard Disks take up any space, and you can certainly find a way to transfer files over.

If you transfer files you can run into problems because Windows will still be looking for them on the C drive (the internal one). You may have to reload the programs again, specifying the external drive.  Data files, on the other hand, are no problem.
