« on: March 23, 2006, 02:56:17 PM »
Hi

I have just tried to start my laptop up, it seems to start to power up then I hear 4 beeps and shorly after it powers down!!!

I have a Acer Travelmate 242LC
Celeron 2.4GHz
256 DDR Ram 30GB HD
XP Home
Norton 2005

any clues to what could be wrong with it and how I can fix it would be welcomed

Matt  :-?

Without knowing which Bios you have installed it is difficult to offer a opinion.
For example , if you have a AMI bios installed and you are hearing 4 beeps ...... that could be indicating motherboard issues.
How old is the laptop ?

If you don't know the answer, it isn't a dumb question.
