OK, I get you now.  It's makes sense, since the wires leading from the reset button are probably soldered to it.  Therefore, the end that connects to the motherboard is where he makes the change.  Thanks for that clarification.

Of course, he won't have his reset switch, but he can force a shutdown it necessary.

In this instance, pretty much any old switch will do.  See Maplins, as ian124 said.
