Help

Does anyone have any suggestions on a website that has any or all of the following:

Hard Disk Performance test
Motherboard Test
PC Memory Test

I need these because I am having a problem with a computer I am working on. It freezes after a few minutes. Because I can't log onto it, I can't download these tests.

I appreciate it  ;D

Well, if you "can't log onto it" to download, what's the point in asking for websites to download testing tools?  Anyway, here are two tools:

Memtest86 - A Stand-alone Memory Diagnostic

HD Tach is a physical performance hard drive test.

Did you build this system, or install the processor yourself? Has it run OK in the past?  How many fans are installed?  Can you get temperature readings?

I wanted to buy the product and run it; not download it. In regards to your other question, I didn't build the system. From what I was told, it used to work and then it started freezing. When I opened the PC, I saw one fan and I can't get any temperature readings.

One fan is not much.  Also, is the computer accumulating a lot of dust inside?  If so, you ought to clean it to get rid of the dust.  To test for a heat problem, leave the case open and blow a room fan directly on the computer.  Does that make any difference?

When I opened it, there was no dust inside it. As for a possible heat problem, I'll try your suggestion and see what happens.

I think the spam reference might have been related to a post that has since been deleted from this thread.

There's a fair bit of diagnostir software out there for free.  Obviously you're able to connect to the internet from somewhere, since you're on this forum.  Why not download the stuff you need and burn to CD?

    Now you mention it...

I've added loads of diagnostic software that was missing from my list.  :)
