Ubuntu and Windows XP
« on: August 01, 2006, 06:22:58 PM »
I currently have Ubuntu installed on my computer but want to revert to Windows XP (won't run both because my hard drive is only 20GB, so that doesn't leave me with much partitioning room).  I tried getting into BIOS at computer boot up so I could choose the boot from CD option but the computer is not letting me.  The disk won't boot up on its own and I can't get it to boot from Ubuntu or don't know how.  How can I get XP back on my computer?

Ubuntu doesn't have anything to do with BIOS access. There are other issues.

You can remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes and the computer will revert to default settings. Then change what you want/need to.  ;)

Where is the batter located?  Is it the small Li-Ion battery located on the motherboard?  I have an IBM ThinkCentre computer if that helps.

Round and silver, about the size of a nickel.

What exactly does the computer do, when it doesn't "let" you?
