    Need a driver for PCI Simple Communications Controller, just a dial-up modem, don't know how fast or what brand.

    Then you wil need to find out. Open the case, remove the card and look for identifying marks on the card or an FCC ID #.

    Without knowing the card you CANNOT get the right drivers, and without the right drivers it will NEVER function.

    Have you tried Everest to ID you modem?
