    windows password

    Hi
I have a problem. My son keeps taking my laptop so this morning I decided to put an administrators password. I wrote it down to make sure I don't forget it. When i tried to get into my laptop to try the password it tells me that I have the wrong password. I am 99.9 sure that I have the right passord. This is my business computer and I would really appreciate any help.

Check caps lock (although you're normally warned, if it's on).  Did you use any special symbols in the password?

        Hi
I finally got in. I wanted to share how I did it. I restarted my laptop in safe mode. Then I went into control panel and removed the password from users. Then restarted my computer and voila it worked. I am very happy. Thanks for your help.

Kathy202 is lucky that Rob was so trusting this kinda thing is hard to get support for ... Windows has this so there is no excuse to lose your password unless its not yours, and in the event you lose you password and cant get in through safe mode Microsoft will in no way help you recover it....

I reviewed all of Kathy's previous posts, before offering this solution.  She seemed trustworthy.  ;D

I meant no harm to you Rob I knew you had a goood reason, I just counted it for ESP...

I would however consider booting back to safe mode and putting a pass. on the Administrators acc. so that you son or anyone else that knows this trick gets in your computer... After making a Password reset disk ofcourse!!!!

and if you're really concerned about someone getting on it set the hard drive to boot first and password the bios.... that makes it tighter than a nats *$$
