ok here it is i have a etower 600ix it had a sticker on it
that said i could up my ram to 256 now is this ahigh as i can go with it :-/

No. I recently upgraded an eMachines for a friend by adding an additional 512meg ram. With XP and 256meg she couldn't install her DSL.

    TUNA....The amount of Ram you may install is determinded by the motherboard  that is installed .
    Check it out then you will know for sure .

    Any modern MB that is limited to 256meg ram should take its rightful place atop the garbage heap. ;D

    ok how do i find out how much ram a mother board will take as you can see i don't know much about puters ???

    I guess I've got egg on my face. I just did a little digging on the 600ix and 256 meg is the max for that machine. Its standard configuration is 64 meg. It has two slots that each support 128 meg PC100 DIMM modules. Sorry, TUNA.
