Connection Problem

I am running a 5-year-old Dell inspiron 2650 with Windows XP Home Version 2002.  This computer will not connect to the internet.  I have it plugged in to an Ethernet connection but it shows no signs of any connection.

You are going to have to provide some information.


Did it ever work? If so what happened? What kind of connection? Who is the ISP? Etc. and etc.?
