usb cable to NEC monitor

I have connected the usb cable to my monitor but cannot find anywhere to connect it to the computer.  What is this cable for?  No info available and I guess the NEC company expects me to know something about computers that I don't. :(  Any help out there?

How long have you had this monitor?  Do you have a user's manual for it?  Are you using that monitor right now?  What model is it?
