    Usr Accounts
    « on: June 27, 2007, 04:07:40 AM »
    Hi all

    Help please............

My operating system is XP home

I have created an user account but as of yet can't get it to connect to the internet.

With the new user account open I click "Start" then "connect to" and although it shows both connections on my PC ie ASDL and dial-up when I click on them, I get a message saying the PC in not connected to the internet...  ???

Likewise when I click on I.E. in the Start up menu I get the same thing.

Is there something else I should be doing ?

Any help will be much appreciated...  ;D

Is everything connected properly? Is your modem turned on? Please provide some more information so that we may help you.

Did you configure the internet for both users? I had the problem with roadrunner on my laptop with 2 users, and realized that I didn't have the configuration set properly.

            What is your primary connection?
            ADSL or DialUp?

If its ADSL, DSL, Cable or Fiber, try this:
            Go into Internet Exploer
Click the "Tools" menu bar, and select "Internet Options"
            Then click the "Connection" tab

            Remove any dialup connections
            and click "LAN Settings"
make sure than LAN is enabled and that the proxy is being automatically detected.
Click OK, and then click OK again
            close Internet explorer
            and start it again
