Windows ME Iexplore error

Having problems with my internet explorer on windows me. I am getting the error: Iexplore has caused an error in unknown, Iexplore will now close. When I click alt D this is the full error report that I got....

IEXPLORE caused a general protection fault
in module <unknown> at d647:0001f929.

I ran Spybot S&D, no problems there.

My avast antivirus is updated & no problems there.

Visit Windows Update and download and install the latest "high priority" updates for your computer's operating system.

Update your antivirus and Spybot.  Boot into Safe Mode.  Run anti virus and then Spybot letting them delete or quarantine infections found.

Boot into Windows normally and run malware protection again.

Try opening IE, again and post results please.
