the dreaded blue screen
« on: August 25, 2007, 12:20:03 AM »
After starting my computer, the scrren said loading personal settings and then after that my desktop items failed to appear. All that shows is the blue screen. Any ideas about what to do? Thanks
My computer is a Dell dimension 210 desktop PC. No message appeared. After the screen shows loading personal settings, instead of my desktop appearing with all the icons, the screen is completely blue with nothing on it. I have tried twice shutting it down and starting over, but the same thing happens. Any ideas?

try to disconnnect external peripherals (printer, scanner, etc) then restart system. during restart when you see the dell splash screen immediately tap F8 key repeatedly (every half second) until you see the windows advance boot option. select last known good configuration. :D
