Help with dual hard disk virtual memory
« on: August 31, 2007, 06:36:44 PM »
I recently purchased a 250 GB external hard drive for my laptop.  After this purchase, I decided to change virtual memory settings to best accomodate dual hard drives.  I have 512 mb RAM and I set the minimum virtual memory to evenly distribute to 752 (376 per drive).  I have an IBM think pad T42 laptop.   However after configuring this the total paging memory was stated to be 376 mb.  Regardless of what drive I use the total paging memory is only stated as the virtual memory used for the drive with the highest virtual memory set to it.  Is there a reason for this, is only one of my drives being used as virtual memory?

any help is much appreciated.

actually I figured it out but thanks.  I thought I could create a virtual memory file for my new external hard drive but I guess I can't.  It seems you can't make these files for USB external hard drives.

Just an afterthought but you should set the min and max to the same size...768.
