data recovery
« on: September 05, 2007, 02:53:06 PM »
Hard disk failed (BSOD) and had to reinstall WinXP to get going again.
Most of hard drive is now unpartitioned. Does this mean all data/files/programs have been lost.
Is there any way to recover the files?

yes, this means that the data has been lost, but there are ways to get it back. However since you already reinstalled windows, some of the data has probably been overwritten. In that case, you won't be able to retrieve  most of it. Download and install PC Inspector File Recovery and see if it can get any of your data back.
