incorrect display

hi

just got a nice new laptop but when surfing the web the web pages are only visible across 2/3 of the screen it is very annoying how do i set the computer to maximise the viewing of web pages so they cover the whole screen, any help appreciated

You do know how the Maximize and Minimize buttons work, right?  Are you saying your browser only covers 2/3 of your screen when Maximized?  What about other applications?

    If the browser has a side bar, close it.
