Icon Change
« on: November 22, 2007, 02:04:49 AM »
I was given some World of Warcraft thing wich changed my desktop to waorld of warcraft. I didn't like it, changed back, and now my Microsoft Word documents have a different icon! How can I change this back? I've poked around a bit in the control panel, and I tried changing the icon but I couldn't find where to do it. Any ideas?

Running XP SP2
Word 2000

Open "My Computer"
"Tools" menu
"Folder Options..." (last thing listed)

In this dialog box, click the "File Types" tab
Scroll down the list to 'DOC' and select it
Click "Advanced"

Now in this new window that should open, you can change what the file type should be referred to as, what icon it uses, etc.

Right click on Word icon, click "Properties", Shortcut tab, "Change Icon".

I tried both these things and it didn't work - it didn't display the old icon. But i fiddled around a bit and worked it out - some weird setting which i can't find again.

Thanks for your help
