Dell Monitor E152FP
« on: December 30, 2004, 08:34:15 AM »
I would like to use a Dell flat screen monitor model E152FP that came with a Dell Dimension 4600 with Windows XP on a Dell Dimension 4100 that is running Windows ME. When I attempt to install by plug and play, computer does not recognize driver provided and freezes up. I have looked for alternate drivers on Dell site without luck and have posted this question on Dell forum without response. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Most drivers for LCD monitors are nothing more than an interface to access the monitors built in menus. Make sure you have the the correct drivers for your video card. Update them if necessary. You should be able shut down, connect the LCD monitor, and reboot. The video card drivers are what is important. Use a driver that is intended for the OS. Incidentally, that monitor was manufactured by KDS (Korea Data Systems).
