Dell Media Experience Folder opens when I log on
    « on: November 18, 2007, 07:44:05 PM »
Windows XP, IE 7, have all the latest downloads/updates.  Recently installed Dell Support Center which seems to be okay, but now when I restart or log on to my computer it opens a window for Dell Media Experience, which it never did before.

I'm a novice, don't know where to look to have this turned off or not happen.   It's not the end of the world, i simply close it and move about my business, but i was
    just curious.

I tried the dell site but they weren't all that much help.

    Thanks for listening.

    Go Start<Run, type in:
    msconfig
    Hit Enter.
    Click on Startup tab.
    Look for:
    PCMService.exe entry
    Remove checkmark.
    Click OK.

Thanks for the info, i'll go see what i can find.  Didn't see that particular
entry pcmservice.exe in my startup list, but maybe i'm just not seeing it.

I tried to copy what was there out to this post, but it wouldn't let me.
      so i'll keep looking.

      thanks again.

      Get Autoruns: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/Utilities/AutoRuns.mspx
After installation, click on "Logon" tab, go File>Save As, save it as text file, and paste its content in your next post.
