Need to know the type of network you're trying to get into (802.11g/b/a etc.) and type of encryption (if any) it is using, the router and modem setup, and what things you have tried so far (be as specific as possible, you can never give too much info). 
I'm going to sleep now, but that info will help whoever else is around right now to get you started in the right direction.
The network is 802.11g.
There is no encryption or security.
The router is a Linksys - Wireless G, 2.4 GHz Broadband Router 54 Mbps.
Modem is standard from Time Warner Cable.
I have tried restoring to previous point, disabling firewall, running multiple anti-virus/spam programs, disabling all but required start-up programs through msconfig, starting in safe-mode, connecting directly to wire, renewing ip address, setting properties to automatically connect, and also tried manual. That's all that I can think of off the top of my head.
