    connecting cables

     have a computer a friend disconnected cables and put a cd burner into
    the computer but did not connect the cables can anyone send me a link
    that would show how to reconnect the cables to the floppy drive hard drive
    and cd rom and the cd burner none of the cables are connected i checked
    with a store and they want to charge me $50 dollars to do it for me any
    help would be appreciated
    i do not know how to connect the cables and i don't want to make a mistake ???

      all the things are still in their by all i need to do i know what cable goes to what or does one cable connect all of the items cd burner  floppy drive cd rom and hard drive  ???

        I can't show you, but I can tell you how;

        Most connectors are keyed, so you can't put 'm on the wrong way.
        Pin 1 is the red line.

        Master/Slave connector doesn't matter much. I believe master goes on Top, slave in the middle.
        The connector furtest away goes on the mainboard

        FDD:

        1. The red line goes on Pin 1 of the mainboard. (Inspect mainboard closely or use the manual, no excuses)
        2. If you do not connect the FDD end of the cable properly, you will see the light constantly shining

        HDD:

        1. Keyed, same as mainboard.

        CDD

        1. May be keyed, pin 1 is designated on either the sticker or the back of the CD/DVD drive.

        Mainboard:

        1. Keyed.

        If you still need more information refer to your mainboard manual.
