DSL connection times out

I have AT&T DSL with a new 2Wire modem and Windows XP. I have no firewall up and I've tried it on both Mozilla and IE browsers with the same result. I've tried getting help from AT&T but nothing they've done seems to work. The connection is perfect, both on their end and my own. I'm getting a good signal and the modem is working as advertised. My wife's computer's internet is also working fine.

I've also installed and reinstalled my network adapter/driver (Dell Wireless 1370 WLAN) and AT&T's software, but to no avail.  Also, it seems to work fine after I first log into windows for about a minute or so. Then it starts to slow down.

I pretty sure it is a problem with my computer. Does anyone know what could be causing this?
