Will a dual core 1.8ghz processor be able to properly run a game that requires a 2.0ghz processor?

      You could always overclock??

But i don't see why that would make a issue , so sure i reckon it could.
      :)

What game is it for my own curiosity ??

Most modern games shouldn't have a problem if your processor is a newer model than the minimum required. And most games only require at least a single core processor.

          The requirements are usually compared to a Pentium 4 . . . a 2GHz Pentium 4 is far inferior to a 1.8GHz Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon X2.
In other words, your CPU is more powerful than the recommended requirements even without the fact that it's dual core.
Your CPU is unlikely to matter that much in most games anyway.
