    Video Card, Mobo, or Monitor?
    « on: March 30, 2008, 03:45:38 PM »

Thats what my screen looks like most of the time, although sometimes i can boot up and it will be fine.  I have 2 graphics card and running each by themselves has the same result.

Hook up another monitor to determine if it's the monitor...
Try one or both of the cards on another machine to determine if it is the cards...
If both the monitor checks out and the cards as well then it's the board.
Are both of these cards installed at the same time and what type are they ? ?

They are both installed at the same time, I have (2) Geforce 7800 GT's 512mb a piece.  shaking the computer effects the way the glitches look so I don't think its the monitor.  I think its the MOBO to be honest since the glitches are the same if I just use 1 graphics card.  Thanks for your help btw

      I have a A87N SLI MOBO

How is the motherboard setup? Are you running the Nividia firewall? And did you remember to switch the SLI on board controller to the 2 video card postion? And did you plug the 4 pin power supply right into the motherboard near the video cards?
