Quick Question, Slow running DVD's

I have a Compaq Presario 700, recently while playing DVD's the frame rate is going slower that what it should be, occassionally there will be a skip in that it thinking, I have free RAM and Hard Drive space on my computer, any ideas?

Are your USB connections 2.0 or 1.1?  You can upgrade USB 1.1 to 2.0 by changing the card.
