    In the Green Corner!
    « on: July 21, 2008, 11:59:57 AM »
I hope this is in the right forum, as checking with the below does not show any virus/maleware problems?
My monitor screen has changed to a hue of green in the extreme bottom right (As looking at the screen) corner. Does this mean that I need to start looking for a new monitor or can it be adjusted? It is about three quarters of an inch along the Taskbar.
    The Monitor is an Elonex.

    I have:
    Win XP PRO Sp2
    Avira anti virus
    Online Armor firewall
    WinPatrol
    Spyware Blaster
    Super Anti Spyware
    A Squared
    Malewarebytes
    CCleaner

Can you try another monitor first?
    OR
Try the monitor on another computer?

I can try another monitor on Sunday, can't get out to borrow one till then! But will phone around and try and get someone to bring one over. I will post again when I have tried that (good common sense and I should have thought of it!) idea.
      Thanks.

I think it's a problem with the monitor but it could be a video card problem.
My money is on the monitor.

EMI (electromagnetic interference) could be the problem. Do you have any other electronic devices close to the monitor? Try moving them away.

See if there's a button you can press to "degauss" the monitor -- this relieves/resets electromagnetic buildups which sometimes affect the display.  I don't think this will solve the problem, but you can at least try this, perhaps.

If it is an LCD, the effects are minimal or they take quite some time to affect. Also, they need to be pretty close to the monitor (pretty much touching it).

If this is a CRT Monitor, this may be the problem, but doesn't it turn it pink?

EDIT: Aegis you posted before I did.  :o

Just a normal monitor. I can't see any degas button. There is no change to what has been around the monitor for three months. All that is near it electrically is the Orange Livebox for Broadband and the telephone connected to that. I might be able to get hold of a different monitor to try tomorrow and will post the result. Thanks for the replies.

If you don't have time to do it right
...when will you have time to do it over?
